Camille
'Fresh', 'innovative' and 'quirky' are all terms used to describe French singer/songwriter Camille.Perhaps best known in the UK for her work with Nouvelle Vague and her version of Guns of Brixton, Camille released her debut album 'Le Sac des Filles' in 2002 - a 'sunny' blend of pop, folk, blues and soul tracks.
But it was in 2005 with the release of the second album 'Le Fil', that Camille started gaining the attention of the international press. A true vocal artist, Camille's instrument of choice for 'Le Fil' is simply her voice. A cappella, handclaps, intricate vocals and melodies dominate this very original album as can be seen and heard on the video for the single 'Ta Douleur'.
Where 'Le Fil' may not be to everyone's musical taste, 'Le Sac des Filles' should hold wider appeal. '1,2,3', 'Paris', 'Je ne Suis pas ta Chose', 'Les Ex' and the title track 'Le Sac des Filles' all possess a certain irresistible French musical charm.
